Talks on the creation of a Russian-Hungarian airline sluggish - Manturov
MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Talks on the creation of a Russian-Hungarian airline are proving difficult, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told journalists on the sidelines of the visiting session of United Russia faction on Tuesday.
"They [the talks] are sluggish because we haven't found an effective economic model yet, which would allow us to guarantee a small market in Hungary as it is quite close to other European countries which have already developed a fleet [of planes]," the minister said.
The Industry and Trade Ministry earlier said Russia was ready to become an investor in Hungary's flag carrier. It was proposed that the company's fleet would be made up of Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes.
The Hungarian flag carrier Malev, unable to cope with its financial difficulties, suspended its operations in 2012.
