Ukraine conflict cannot be subject of deal between Moscow, Washington - Peskov
MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - The conflict in Ukraine cannot be a subject of a deal between Russia and the United States, and any media reports alleging the opposite are untrue, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"No doubt, it is unlikely that this intra-Ukrainian conflict can be a subject of any deal, and, of course, such information is totally untrue," Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
"The future of the people who live in Donbas and who have now been de facto rejected by their own state cannot be a subject of a deal," Peskov said, commenting on Western media reports stating that the Kremlin is preparing "a big deal" with the new U.S. administration, in which the U.S. will make some concessions on Ukraine.
