Syrian opposition to focus on lasting truce, control mechanisms at Astana talks - al-Aridi

ASTANA. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Syrian opposition delegation to the Astana talks will seek confirmation of the ceasefire and a discussion of the ceasefire control mechanism, Syrian opposition activist and delegation advisor Yahya al-Aridi told Interfax.

"We are expecting to achieve a confirmation of the ceasefire guarantees and to discuss ceasefire implementation and control mechanisms. This is our priority," al-Aridi said.

He confirmed the participation of the Syrian opposition delegation in the Astana talks.

"The delegation is on its way to Astana. Its head is the same," he said.

Mohammed Alloush headed the Syrian opposition delegation to the previous negotiations in Astana.
