Ukrainian, Slovak foreign ministers propose Visegrad Group meeting with Ukraine
KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Slovakia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak have expressed their interest in a "Visegrad Group (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) plus Ukraine" meeting being held in the very near future.
The two ministers met on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Friday.
"The parties acknowledged the positive dynamics of the bilateral dialogue developing in all areas of mutual interest, and focused on discussing the problem of Ukraine's European integration, including the abolition of visa requirements with the EU and the completion of the association agreement ratification process," the statement said.
Klimkin notified his counterpart about the escalation in Donbas, including around Avdiivka. "[The parties] noted the need to keep the sanctions against Russian in place," the Foreign Ministry said.
