Another check at Cairo airport needed to decide on flights resumption between Russia, Egypt - source
MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Russian experts on air safety may again check Cairo airport before flights between Russia and Egypt are resumed, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax.
"One more check of safety measures at the airport in Egypt's capital is needed to make a decision on the resumption of flights between Moscow and Cairo," the source said.
Russian state agencies have not so far received a relevant invitation from the Egyptian side, he said.
Russian air safety experts visited Cairo airport in early February. They checked the readiness of a new terminal for receiving Russian tourists. Experts came to the conclusion that the airport did not fully meet all safety requirements earlier voiced by the Russian side.
