Deputy FM Gatilov, Syrian opposition's Cairo bloc reps discuss settling Syrian conflict
GENEVA. March 1 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov has met with representatives of the Syrian opposition's Cairo platform in Geneva, the Russian permanent mission to international organizations said.
"Gennady Gatilov has held consultations with representatives of the opposition's Cairo bloc. The sides exchanged opinions on the settlement of the Syrian conflict," the mission said.
Later, it said that the delegation of the Syrian opposition's High Negotiations Committee (HNC) arrived in the Russian permanent mission to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva.
"Gatilov is holding a meeting with the HNC," the mission said.
Gatilov is also expected to meet with the Moscow platform of the opposition.
