Russia produced 124.745 bcm gas in Jan-Feb
MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Russian gas production totaled 124.745 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-February 2017, up from 115.279 bcm in the first two months of last year, the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex (CDU TEK) said.
Given that last year was a leap year, and February 2016 had one day more than February 2017, it would be more appropriate to compare average daily production on a year-on-year basis: Russia produced 58.525 bcm of gas or 2.09 bcm per day in February 2017, compared with 53.047 bcm, or 1.829 bcm per day in February 2016, so average daily production rose 14.3% in February 2017.
CDU TEK does not publish separate production figures for Gazprom - its figures are listed as 'estimated' output in the line for 'other producers,' which produced 96.863 bcm of gas in January-February this year, including 45.304 bcm in February alone.
Novatek produced 7.689 bcm of gas in January-February (3.594 bcm in February) and production-sharing agreement (PSA) operators - 4.174 bcm (1.956 bcm).
Of Russia's vertically integrated oil companies, Rosneft produced 7.762 bcm of gas in January-February (3.645 bcm in February) Lukoil produced 3.165 bcm (1.577 bcm), Surgutneftegas - 1.658 bcm (0.784 bcm) and Gazprom Neft - 2.376 bcm (1.144 bcm).
Rosneft bought a 50.0755% stake in Bashneft in October last year, but CDU TEK still lists production for the two separately.
