No signals from U.S. of possibility of anti-Russian sanctions relief - Russian ambassador to EU Chizhov

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - The signals coming from Washington attest that the United States is not prepared to lift the anti-Russian sanctions, Russia's permanent representative to the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov, said.

"Publicly, from the remarks coming from Washington, there is no sign of a review of sanctions policy," he said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel.

Recently EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini visited the U.S. and probably attempted to signal to Washington the unacceptability of reviewing sanctions policy on Russia, Chizhov said.

"She returned, seemingly satisfied, which means she did get some reassurances," he said.
