Over 52 mln attacks on state info resources recorded in Russia in 2016 - Security Council secretary
KURGAN. March 3 (Interfax) - The number of attacks on Russian state institutions' websites has been growing, and 52.5 million such attacks were recorded last year, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.
"A total of 52.5 million computer attacks were detected and neutralized across the country last year. In comparison, there were 14.4 million such attacks in 2015," Patrushev said at a visiting conference in the Urals Federal District.
These attacks are aimed at obtaining classified information and disrupting the functioning of hardware and software, he said.
"At the same time, the level of information systems' protection from computer attacks and computer intelligence means remains insufficient and in most cases does not match existing threats," Patrushev said.
