Armenia has always supported peaceful settlement process in Karabakh, attaches a lot of importance to Russia's efforts - parliament speaker

YEREVAN. March 3 (Interfax) - Armenia attaches a lot of importance to the role of Russia in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan said while meeting with Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on Friday.

"We attach a lot of importance to the role of Russia in the process of settling this issue as co-chair of the Minsk group," Sahakyan said.

"Armenia has always supported the peaceful settlement process, but has always been faced with destructive activities by Azerbaijan," the parliamentarian said.

"Armenia attaches a lot of importance to the organization of events to form an atmosphere of mutual confidence," Sahakyan said, adding that "there is no alternative to peaceful settlement."
