Russian military transfers almost 6 tonnes of relief supplies to Aleppo residents in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - The Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria has conducted six humanitarian missions in the Syrian city of Aleppo over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

A total of "0.94 tonnes of bread and 4.8 tonnes of bottled drinking water were transferred to residents in the neighborhoods of Aquel, al-Malqaniyah, Khalmaniyah, al-Hamdaniyah 4, Benezid and Sheikh Maqsoud," the ministry said in a report.

Relief supplies weighing a total of 5.74 tonnes have been provided to 2,320 people in Syria over the past 24 hours, it said.

In addition to that, Russian aircraft delivered 20.4 tonnes of humanitarian aid (food supplies), which had been provided to the Syrian authorities by the United Nations, to the Deir ez-Zor area using parachute platforms.
