Cargo handling at Russian seaports up 8.2% to 114.8 mln tonnes in Jan-Feb
MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Russian seaports handled 114.8 million tonnes of cargo in January-February 2017, 8.2% more year-on-year, the Russian Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) said.
Dry cargo handling rose 7.6% to 49.1 million tonnes while tanker cargo grew 8.7% to 65.6 million tonnes.
According to Rosmorrechflot data, cargo handling at sea terminals of the Arctic Basin increased 41.8% to 8.85 million tonnes of which dry cargo handling fell 0.9% to 3.75 million tonnes and tanker cargo doubled to 5.11 million tonnes.
At ports of the Baltic Basin the volume of cargo handling rose 9.2% to 40.14 million tonnes, including dry cargo up 15.6% to 14.76 million tonnes and tanker cargo up 5.9% to 25.37 million tonnes.
The cargo turnover of seaports in the Azov-Black Sea basin rose 3.6% to 36.36 million tonnes, including dry cargo handling, which rose 2.9% to 13.88 million tonnes and tanker cargo increased 4.1% to 22.48 million tonnes.
In the Caspian basin, cargo handling fell 53.4% to 0.54 million tonnes, including dry cargo down 31.6% to 0.41 million tonnes and tanker cargo down 76.9% to 0.13 million tonnes.
At seaports in the Far Eastern Basin, cargo turnover rose 7.8% to 28.93 million tonnes, including dry cargo - up 8.7% to 16.37 million tonnes and tanker cargo - up 6.5% to 12.57 million tonnes.
