Yerevan hopes Turkey will stand by understanding to normalize relations with Armenia

YEREVAN. March 10 (Interfax) - Armenia is ready to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey without any preliminary conditions, Foreign Minister Edvard Nalbandian said.

"Armenia is open to the normalization of relations with Turkey without preliminary conditions. In the past Turkey retracted from understandings, from obligations to stand by its commitments," Nalbandian said at a Friday press conference in Yerevan following his talks with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias.

He voiced hope that "one day Turkey will demonstrate the same approach as Armenia and respect the understandings reached."
