Russian railway freight haulage jumps 4.8% in 2M
MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Russia's railways carried 212.446 million tonnes of freight in January-February 2017, up 4.8% year-on-year, rail monopoly Russian Railways (RZD) said in materials, seen by Interfax.
Domestic shipments were unchanged at 121 million tonnes, exports rose 10.3% to 75.88 million tonnes, imports grew 18.8% to 12.2 million tonnes and transit increased 30% to 3.36 million tonnes.
International shipments via Russian ports increased 9.6% to 49.4 million tonnes while shipments via border crossings grew 14.9% to just over 42 million tonnes.
