Sheremetyevo passenger traffic rises 15.4% in February

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport rose 15.4% in February year-on-year to 2.54 million people, the company reported on Thursday.

Domestic passenger traffic rose 13.1% to 1.16 million and international traffic was up 17.3% to 1.375 million.

In January-February, Sheremetyevo served 5.25 million passengers, 17.3% more year-on-year. Domestic traffic rose 15.7% to 2.3 million and international traffic was up 18.6% to 2.9 million.

"The most popular international destinations in January-February 2017 were Paris, Prague, Tel-Aviv, Bangkok and Amsterdam; for domestic destinations - St. Petersburg, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and Mineralnye Vody. Antalya, Guangzhou, Punta Cana, Delhi and Aqaba are gaining in popularity. Passenger traffic to those destinations more than doubled compared with the same period a year ago,"
