Russian weapons proved efficiency in fighting terrorists in Middle East - Putin
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - The exceptional reliability and efficiency of the Russian weapon have been proved in fighting terrorists in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"The potential of the Russian weapon, its exceptional reliability and efficiency are being manifested both in the fight against terrorists in the Syrian Arab Republic and in countering terrorism across the whole of the Middle East," Putin said at a meeting with the commission for military-technical cooperation with foreign states on Wednesday.
"The use of the aviation and air defense weapons in real-life combat provides an absolutely invaluable experience for pilots, engineers and technicians, air defense crews, as well as the designers of Russian military-purpose products," he said.
Putin thanked the attendees for their prompt reaction to remarks arising during the use of military equipment.
Military equipment is being used not only in combat but for humanitarian purposes as well, he said.
"Thus, brand new anti-mine complexes rendered safe explosive devices in Aleppo and Palmyra and neutralized the chemical weapons of terrorists," the president said.
Mobile medical health units, field kitchens, engineering devices have proved efficient and are helping to rebuild civilian life, Putin said.
"I emphasize the need to constantly analyze the experience of using defense technologies and improve on military training techniques. Such an approach will also help develop relations within our military-technical cooperation system, raise the quality of the products of our country's military industrial complex," he said.
