Lukashenko invited to U.S. for events on centennial of entry into WWI

MINSK. March 24 (Interfax) - The U.S. embassy in Minsk has sent an invitation to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to attend a ceremony marking the centennial of the United States' entry into World War I, the embassy told Interfax on Friday.

Lukashenko, along with the heads of other countries involved in the war, was invited to attend the ceremony to take place in Kansas City on April 6, the embassy said.

On that day 100 years ago, the USA joined World War I.

Lukashenko was last in the U.S. in September 2015, when he attended the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
