Russia, Kuwait discuss joint production of oil and gas equipment, projects

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - Russia and Kuwait have discussed bilateral cooperation and the state of joint projects, the Russian Energy Ministry press service said.

"Before the visit to Kuwait by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak [where a meeting of the OPEC Ministerial Monitoring Committee is being held], Roman Marshavin, director of the department of international cooperation of the Russian Energy Ministry, had a meeting with the administration of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and the Kuwait oil services company

GOFSCO, which was also attended by representatives of Gazprom , Rosatom and the company GIRS-service," the ministry said.

"The meeting addressed a broad range of issues relating to bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to the prospects of development of relations between the two countries in the sphere of energy. Specifically, it addressed the broadening of the Russian technologies line and the increase in the amount of work. The meeting also addressed the possibility of implementation of the idea of creating joint production of oil and gas equipment and research institutes," the report said.

The meeting also addressed the current state of Russian-Kuwaiti projects and the results of the work of Russian oil services companies on the Kuwaiti market. "The Russian oil services company GIRS-Service in cooperation with the Kuwaiti company Eastern United Petroleum Services has conducted 15 projects on the wells of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation using the Russian electrical inverse lateral logging technology. All those projects were recognized as successful. On the basis of the results of one of them, an official report was made to the international Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE Paper)," the Russian Energy Ministry said.
