Russian military record 15 ceasefire violations in Syria in past 24 hours
MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Russia recorded 15 ceasefire violations in Syria in the past 24 hours, while Turkey recorded 18, which were not confirmed by the Russian side, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The Russian part of the joint Russian-Turkish commission dealing with violations of the joint agreement recorded 15 ceasefire violations in the past 24 hours, including eight in the Damascus governorate, two in the Latakia governorate, one in the Hama governorate, one in the Idlib governorate, and three in the Daraa governorate," the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in a bulletin.
The Turkish part recorded 18 ceasefire violations in the governorates of Aleppo, Damascus, Idlib, Hama, Homs, and Daraa, the center said.
"It was established in an inquiry of the Russian side that all 18 violations were not confirmed," the center said.
The agreement on joining the ceasefire was signed with representatives of 17 populated localities, Beit Hjira and al-Masli in the Latakia governorate, al-Dimas in the Damascus province, al-Khiyad and Taala in the al-Suwayda governorate, Deir Kak, Abu Taltal, Suran al-Bab, Sarji, Arran, Aysha, Tadef, Sarbea, Ain al-Dahab, Barlagin, Marran, and Mazariyah Maran in the Aleppo governorate, in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The total number of populated localities joining the ceasefire has reached 1,393," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
