Belarus boosts potash fertilizer exports 54.3% in Jan; nitrogen down 34.2%
MINSK. March 28 (Interfax) - Belarus boosted potash fertilizer exports 54.3% in January 2017 year-on-year to 480,500 tonnes (in terms of 100% active ingredients), national statistics committee Belstat said in materials.
Almost all was exported outside the CIS: 479,000 tonnes, 55.1% more year-on-year. Exports to CIS countries totaled 1,500 tonnes, 40.1% less.
The average contract price of the potash fertilizer exports was $330 per tonne, 27% lower than a year earlier.
Belarus also exported 27,500 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizer in January (34.2% less), including 24,100 tonnes outside the CIS (38.6% less) and 3,400 tonnes to the CIS (32.6% more).
The average contract price for nitrogen fertilizer in January 2017 was $470 per tonne, 6.1% less.
In addition, Belarus exported 92,400 tonnes of compound fertilizers, 32.8% more year-on-year, including 61,900 tonnes outside the CIS, 30.9% more, and 30,500 tonnes to the CIS, 36.6% more. The average contract price for compound fertilizer was $243 per tonne, 22.4% less.
