Uzbek parliament ratifies agreement on MTC with Russia

TASHKENT. March 28 (Interfax) - The Senate of the Uzbek parliament on Tuesday adopted a bill on the ratification of an agreement with Russia on the development of military-technical cooperation (MTC), an Interfax correspondent reports.

Previously the document was approved by the Legislative Chamber and tabled to the Senate.

During the debate speakers said that the Russian Federation was and remains a key partner for Uzbekistan, in MTC among other spheres.

Senators unanimously voted in support of ratification.

Earlier reports said that Uzbekistan and Russia intend to exchange ratification notes on the enforcement of the agreement at the beginning of April during the visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia.

Russia and Uzbekistan assigned the agreement on MTC in November 2016 in Moscow.
