Donetsk water purification plant loses power in shelling again - DPR

DONETSK. March 29 (Interfax) - Power supply of the Donetsk water purification plant was interrupted following the Ukrainian Armed Forces' shelling of its area on Wednesday, the operational command of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) told the Donetsk News Agency.

"Power substation supplying the Donetsk water purification plant was damaged in a mortar shelling conducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at 6:55 p.m. The plant is currently left without power," a command representative told the agency.

The plant's staff remains at their workplace, it is impossible to evacuate them due to continuing shelling, the representative said.

The Donetsk water purification plant is situated between Avdiivka and Yasynuvata. It provides water to populated localities on both sides of the contact line between the parties to the conflict in Donbas.
