Kazakhstan's Taraz Metal Plant to expand ferroalloy production by 2020
TARAZ. March 30 (Interfax) - Taraz Metal Plant LLP, based in the Zhambyl region, will carry out a diversification and expansion project in the next three years, the regional administration says in a press release.
The project is aimed at diversifying and expanding ferroalloy production and raw material sources, according to the press release.
The cost of the project, which is slated to be completed by 2020, is 29 billion tenge (315.15/$1).
After expansion, the plant will produce 300,000 tonnes of ferrosilicon-manganese a year.
Taraz Metal Plant LLP, one of the largest producers of ferrosilicon-manganese and electrode paste in Kazakhstan, exports products to Russia and CIS countries.
