LPR reports aggravation of situation on frontline

LUHANSK. March 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian military in the past 24 hours launched over 600 shells and mines on the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Andrei Marochko, a representative of the LPR militia, said.

"The situation in the area of responsibility of the LPR militia has aggravated," Marochko told reporters on Thursday.

In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military breached the ceasefire 22 times, launching over 600 shells, mines and grenades on the territory of the LPR from the Ukrainian side, he said.

Marochko said the increase in the number of attacks by Ukraine is linked to the meetings of the contact group and the working groups on the settlement of the conflict in Donbas held in Minsk on Wednesday.

"It was a predictable increase in the number of attacks. As we saw earlier, as soon as we have meetings in Minsk or some international organizations, the situation always aggravates," Marochko said.

""The Ukrainian side is doing that to remind of itself," he said.
