Advanced weapons bought by Azerbaijan arriving in country - Aliyev
BAKU. March 31 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan has signed contracts for the delivery of highly destructive weapons and has already received some of them, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
"After the clashes [in April 2016] contracts were signed for major sums. We ordered the most advanced, high precision and highly destructive armaments, and some them have been delivered to Azerbaijan," Aliyev said at a meeting with a group of servicemen on the anniversary of the clashes in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone on Friday.
The Azerbaijani government and its agencies have been notified that the orders of the army should be fulfilled first of all and therefore there are no restrictions in satisfying army needs, Aliyev said. "We will continue our policy, strengthen the country and attach particular significance to the army. Even though our financial position is not the same as it used to be in previous years, there are no restrictions in meeting the army's needs," he said.
