No decline in falsified Russian products - Rosselkhoznadzor

BYKOVO (MOSCOW REGION). March 31 (Interfax) - The situation with falsified and unsafe Russian products is getting worse, Russian Federal Veterinary and Sanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) Deputy Chief Nikolai Vlasov said at a panel meeting by the agency on Friday.

"So far the situation with unsafe and falsified domestic products is unfortunately not improving but worsening," he said.

Rosselkhoznadzor said in materials for the panel that in accordance with a government order in 2016, monitoring of food product quality was undertaken with falsified milk, meat and fish products appearing. "With the goal of carrying out laboratory testing, samples of 24,158 batches of animal products were chosen, of which 5,063 batches, or 20.96%, did not comply with the content quality announced by producers," the materials said.

Violations were found in 22.4% of milk and dairy products, 13.1% of fish and fish products, 28.5% of meat and meat products and 8.44% of honey and bee products.
