Volodin says is confident that special services, law enforcement agencies will conduct thorough probe into emergency situation in St. Petersburg metro

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The criminal actions that led to casualties in the St. Petersburg metro will not be left without a response, Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said.

"I am confident that our special services and law enforcement agencies will conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances of what has occurred, and those guilty will receive due punishment," Volodin told reporters on Monday.

Volodin extended deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the St. Petersburg metro explosion on behalf of State Duma deputies and himself personally. "We share the grief of your loss and we grieve with you at this difficult time," Volodin said.

He also conveyed words of sympathy and support to all people who have been hurt and wished them a speedy recovery.
