Lavrov states lack of improvement in security situation in Afghanistan
MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - The security situation in Afghanistan is not improving, security and stability in Central Asia depend on it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We focused on the tasks of ensuring security and stability in Central Asia, primarily in the context of the situation in Afghanistan, which is not becoming better, and in the context of the threats of terrorism and other forms of trans-border organized crime related to this situation," Lavrov told a press conference following talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldayev.
