All perpetrators of April 4 attack on Astrakhan patrolmen are dead - Russian Interior Ministry
MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - All the wanted perpetrators of the April 4 attack on Astrakhan patrolmen are dead, Russian Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk told Interfax on Thursday.
"The police acting together with units of the Russian National Guard and the Federal Security Service have killed the four men wanted for attacking Astrakhan patrolmen," Volk said.
One of the suspects was killed over the night and identified as a person wanted for the April 4 murder, and another one was injured and escaped. The wounded assailant and the other two wanted suspects were killed during a police operation, she said.
"Following the overnight attack on Russian National Guard officers, the handler of a police dog named Uma noticed unknown persons wearing darks clothes and hiding in the reeds, who fitted the description of the wanted suspects, during today's search on the premises of an abandoned enterprise," Volk said.
The suspects were killed in a shootout with Russian guards, she said.
