U.S. strike on Syrian airbase has low efficiency - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - The U.S. massive missile strike on a Syrian airbase was inefficient, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"The combat efficiency of the massive U.S. missile strike against the Syrian airbase was extremely low," Konashenkov told reporters in Moscow on Friday.
Konashenkov said the conclusions could be drawn from the strike aftermath. Twenty-three out of 59 Tomahawk missiles hit the airbase, and the location of the other missiles is unknown, he said.
The U.S. missiles destroyed an equipment depot, a training center, a canteen, six Mikoyan MiG-23 planes in maintenance hangars, and a radar station. The runway, taxiways, and parked planes of the Syrian Air Force were not damaged.
