Russia reduces wheat exports 10.6% to 3.2 mln tonnes in January-February - customs
MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - Russia exported 3.207 million tonnes of wheat and wheat-and-rye mix worth $570 million in January-February 2017, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.
This was 10.6% less than the 3.585 million tonnes Russia exported for $600.2 million in the same period of 2016.
Russian wheat exports outside the CIS totaled 3.063 million tonnes worth $544.7 million to non-CIS countries, compared with 3.478 million tonnes worth $582 million in the same period last year.
Russia imported 39,600 tonnes of wheat worth $6.6 million in the two months, down from 161,100 tonnes worth $23.2 million in 2M 2016.
Barley imports rose to 26,400 tonnes ($5.2 million) from 7,100 tonnes ($0.8 million), while corn imports increased to 15,800 tonnes ($67.5 million) compared with 11,600 tonnes ($36.5 million).
Russia imported grain totaling $95.1 million in 2M 2017, up from $77.9 million a year earlier.
