Two policemen shot dead in Ingushetia

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 8 (Interfax) - Two police officers have been shot dead by unknown individuals in the Ingushetian town of Malgobek, an informed source told Interfax.

"In the course of patrolling, a car of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate came under fire. Two policemen sustained fatal injuries and died," the source said.

Currently, the incident area is secured by police. Operational measures are under way to find armed perpetrators.

The incident occurred near the town's central market in the early hours of Saturday. Gunmen fired on the police car from two different directions, using automatic weapons, the source said.
