Rescuers find second body in rubble of Taganrog house hit by gas explosion

ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 9 (Interfax) - The death toll from the house gas explosion in Taganrog is now two people, a spokesperson for the Rostov regional branch of the Emergency Situations Ministry told Interfax on Sunday.

"Rescuers found the body of a second dead victim under the rubble. He has yet to be identified," the spokesperson said.

Also, two injured people are in hospital in Taganrog, they are said to be in a medium-severity condition, a spokesperson for the Rostov regional health ministry told Interfax.

"Two people have been hospitalized. All necessary diagnostic procedures are place, they are receiving medical assistance. Medical assistance is also being provided as necessary to the house residents at the scene," the spokesperson said.

It was reported that there was a gas explosion in one of the flats in a five-storey residential building in Taganrog on Sunday morning. The blast partially destroyed four flats on the fifth floor, the multi-flat house has been evacuated. Sixty-four residents have been temporarily accommodated in a kindergarten building.
