Turnout in S.Ossetia election tops 24% by noon - CEC

TSKHINVAL. April 9 (Interfax) - As of this noon, turnout in the presidential election in South Ossetia is 24.1%, according to data released by the information center of the central election commission (CEC) of the republic on Sunday.

Turnout in Dzau district was 36.42%, in Znaur district, 33.55%, in Leningorsk district, 44.957%, in Tskhinval district 14.236% and in the Tskhinval city proper 22.083%, the CEC said.

High turnout rates have also been seen at polling stations in North Ossetia, CEC head Bella Pliyeva said. "The elections are taking place without violations, we have no serious complaints," she said.
