Moscow Exchange planning to launch export contracts for sugar
MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - The Moscow Exchange having started exchange trading of sugar on the National Mercantile Exchange, part of the Moscow Exchange Group, on March 6, is planning to launch export contracts for sugar.
"We have a clearly defined proposal to carry out export contracts because the sugar industry is moving towards exporter status," deputy head of the Moscow Exchange's commodities department Sergei Kiselyov said at the 'New opportunities for buying sugar in Russia' conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
He said that the turn towards exports "makes such a contract necessary."
In addition, the exchange's plans include the "creation of hedge instruments such as futures and options that allow participants to resolve a great deal of issues and lower all risks."
