Lavrov advises West to put up with gradual loss of world leadership
MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Western countries, which have grown accustomed to taking decisions for others, are painfully upset over losing their unconditional leadership in the world arena, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"Western states are eager to keep at any cost their leading positions in the world to which they have been accustomed over many centuries. Today it is very difficult for them to admit that the world is changing and an impartial process is underway to form a polycentric world system," Lavrov said at a meeting with the heads of the Russian Foreign Ministry's offices in Russian regions.
"It is very painful for those who are used to making single-handedly all decisions for everyone," the minister said.
