Approval of Moldova's observer status in EAEU does not automatically imply membership - Peskov
MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - The decision to grant observer status to Moldova made at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Bishkek on Friday does not automatically imply its membership, yet Chisinau will have a chance of closer monitoring of EAEU activity, the Kremlin said.
The EAEU chiefs of state "have agreed to develop an observer status in general, as the EAEU still does not have an observer status as such at present," Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"This does not imply automatic membership, yet gives an opportunity for closer monitoring of EAEU activity," Peskov said.
