Ninety companies confirm participation in MILEX-2017 defense exhibition in Minsk

MINSK. April 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Ninety companies have confirmed their participation in the MILEX-2017 international defense exhibition, the Belarusian State Military-Industrial Committee said on Thursday.

"Based on the results of the work carried out of inviting potential exhibitors, confirmation of participation in the exhibition was received from 90 companies from Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine," the Committee said.

Attendance has already been confirmed by 20 official delegations from eleven countries, among which as Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria and Russia, the Committee said. In all, 55 official delegations from 27 countries are expected to attend.

Heads of the Committee's and defense-sector organizations have also invited delegations from foreign defense companies with which Belarusian enterprises maintain or are planning to establish scientific-technical and production cooperation.

One of the exhibition's core elements will be its business program, the Committee said.

"Active preparations are under way for the meetings on May 21 and 22, 2017, of the Business Council under the Interstate Commission on Military-Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and of the CSTO Coordinating Council of authorized bodies in charge of advertising and exhibitions," the Committee said.

The seventh international scientific conference on military-technical, defense and security problems and the use of dual-purpose technologies will begin with a plenary session at Minsk-Arena on May 20.
