LPR to conduct engineering reconnaissance at most dangerous sections of contact line in Donbas
LUHANSK. April 24 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) people's militia will carry out extra field engineering reconnaissance at sections along the contact line in Donbas that are the most dangerous in terms of mines, LPR defense ministry spokesman Andriy Marochko said.
"In light of yesterday's incident, namely the explosion of an OSCE mission vehicle, which killed one and injured two international monitors, the people's militia command decided to conduct additional engineering reconnaissance of the area in order to discover mines and dud shells in the most dangerous areas and on secondary roads that may be used by local residents," Marochko told reporters.
Despite the explosion of the OSCE mission's vehicle on Sunday, a team of OSCE Special Monitoring Mission monitors is working in the LPR in a routine mode, he also said.
"We have not received official documents from members of the OSCE mission on suspending their work," Marochko said.
