New U.S. administration interested in strengthening U.S. business in Ukraine - Ukrainian finance minister

KYIV. April 25 (Interfax) - Ukraine is working on specific proposals in the possible strengthening of the U.S. business' presence in the country for the purpose of discussing the proposals at the highest level, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk said following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

"The new administration is interested in strengthening the presence of the U.S. business in Ukraine. And that is a common interest," the Ukrainian finance minister said on the social media following the meeting.

In addition to the creation of jobs, U.S. investments provide the state-of-the-art technologies increasing the Ukrainian economy's competitiveness and facilitate strengthening of political ties between two countries, he said.

Danylyuk recalled that Ross has build a carrier on Wall Street, therefore he is extremely well-versed in investments, highly respected in the U.S. business community and currently the key person in the new administration's economic bloc.
