Unipro power plants generate 12.2% less in Q1, down to 13.6 bln kWh

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Unipro output fell 12.2% year-on-year in January-March 2017 to 13.6 billion kWh, company materials said.

Total electricity sales in Q1 2017 stood at 14.3 billion kWh, 13.3% less than the previous year.

Generation reduction was mainly caused by the downtime of the generating equipment placed on cold reserve due to the System Operator dispatching, the company's press service said.

Heat production increased 1.9% year-on-year to 849,000 Gcal in Q1 due to weather conditions.

PJSC Unipro (before June 22, 2016 - OJSC E.ON Russia) was registered in Surgut on March 4, 2005. Unipro includes five thermal power plants with a combined 11,145 megawatts of capacity: Surgutskaya-2 GRES, Berezovskaya GRES, Smolenskaya GRES, Shaturskaya GRES and Yaivinskaya GRES.
