West trying to hinder Russian arms exports - Rostec
MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - The West has been trying to hinder Russia's military-technical cooperation, the state corporation Rostec said in an annual report.
"The initiators of economic sanctions and their allies have directly put pressure on our military-technical cooperation partners, have blocked settlement systems, and have conducted an aggressive information policy to destroy our foreign trade contacts," the report seen by Interfax said.
Rostec entities carried on military-technical cooperation with foreign partners in 2016 amid complex foreign political and economic conditions deriving from the expansion of anti-Russian sanctions by the United States, the European Union and some other nations, Rostec said.
Russia's military-technical cooperation is also under the influence of military-political tensions in the Middle East and North Africa and the tightening rivalry on arms markets, the report said.
Rosoboronexport and Rostec's entities involved in military-technical cooperation projects supplied military goods to 52 countries in 2016, the report said. "In terms of regions, most military products were exported to Asia (57.8%) and Africa (37.6%)," it said.
