Russia hopes for development of gas cooperation with Austria - Putin
MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - Moscow is absolutely satisfied with the Russia-Austria gas cooperation and hopes that the cooperation will develop further, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We are not just satisfied with our cooperation but are willing to develop it further, for the benefit of our countries, of Europe and of Russia, in the hope that we will be strengthening it," Putin said while meeting with Rainer Seele, CEO of OMV AG, the Austrian oil and gas concern.
Putin emphasized that OMV is "our longstanding and very reliable partner, with whom our first contracts were made 50 years ago".
"Now we have our contract valid until 2028. But Austria is not just a significant consumer of our gas, but also a major transiter: 30 billion cubic meters of gas are transmitted via Austria, mainly thanks to your company," Putin said.
"Austria has turned into a leading global hub. The name of Baumgarten is well-known across the world," Putin said.
