MOSCOW. May 2 (Interfax) - Specialists from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) will conduct an audit of Russian beef, mutton and poultry meat producers which want to export their produce to the country and fulfill its requirements from May 15-23.
Russia's agriculture watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said that it came to an agreement with the SFDA over this during telephone conversations between the Russian regulator and the SFDA, adding that "the final dates will confirmed after some organizational issues are clarified."
It is expected that SFDA specialists will inspect five enterprises as well as visiting farms, feeding stations and slaughterhouses. In addition, they will be familiarized with the work of Rosselkhoznadzor's veterinarian laboratories and local offices.
During talks SFDA representatives also promised to promptly send Rosselkhoznadzor draft veterinarian certificates for all types of meat products which Russian producers are interested in exporting.
