Russia, Turkey, Iran reach consensus on memorandum on de-escalation zones in Syria - source
ASTANA. May 4 (Interfax) - The Syria truce guarantor countries - Russia, Turkey and Iran - have reached a comprehensive consensus on a memorandum on de-escalation zones in Syria, a source close to the talks told reporters.
"The guarantor countries have reached a consensus on all points of the document," the source said when answering a question from Interfax.
The next meeting on Syria in Astana is expected to take place at the beginning of June, he said.
At the same time, certain points of the memorandum on de-escalation zones in Syria will be fine-tuned by the working groups, which include representatives of the guarantor countries, the source said. In particular, the issue of what forces can be used to ensure the implementation of the memorandum on the borders of safety zones requires further discussion.
