Rosneft reduces gas production at Vankor due to Lukoil pipeline maintenance shutdown

MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) - Rosneft produced 17.21 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in the first quarter of 2017, nearly 3% more than in the same period last year, but 3.2% less than in Q4 2016, the company reported.

The production decline was primarily due to an unscheduled maintenance shutdown of a Lukoil-West Siberia gas pipeline in Q1 2017, which affected gas production at Rosneft's Vankor field, the company said.

Lukoil has yet to comment on the information.

Rosneft boosted gas production 2.9% year-on-year due to commissioning of two wells at the northern tip of the Chayvo field on Sakhalin in 2016, reaching the design capacity at Rospan's Novo-Urengoy gas and condensate treatment plant in August 2016, successful launching of three new wells in the Tyumen suite of the Yem-Yegovskoye field in Q1 2017, as well as the increase in gas production at the Severo-Varyoganskoye field due to new wells putting on stream and growing gas deliveries from the Van-Yoganskoye field to the Tyumen compressor station after the renovation, Rosneft said.
