Ukraine imposes sanctions against Russia's Tkachev Agrocomplex for 3 yrs

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Ukraine has imposed sanctions against JSC N.I. Tkachev Agrocomplex Firm from Russia's Krasnodar territory for a period of three years.

The sanctions were imposed in line with a decree signed by President Petro Poroshenko, which enacted a resolution of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) dated April 28, 2017 on the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions). The decree was signed on May 15 and published on the presidential website on May 16. It comes into effect on the date of its publication.

The measure bans the complex from trading in Ukraine and suspends its economic and financial obligations.

The Tkachev Agricomplex is the biggest agricultural firm in the Kuban in southern Russia. It comprises more than 40 poultry, pig, meat and dairy farming and crop growing, trading and processing enterprises. It is one of Russia's biggest landowners with 456,000 hectares as of the end of 2016.
