DPR sees 54 ceasefire breaches in past 24 hours

DONETSK. May 17 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has seen over 50 ceasefire breaches in the past 24 hours, the DPR Defense Ministry said, adding that a woman sustained injuries as a result of an attack.

"The Ukrainian armed forces have breached the truce 54 times over the past day. In all, the Ukrainian army attacked 17 populated localities in the republic, using artillery, tanks, mortars, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, grenade launchers, and small arms," a DPR Defense Ministry spokesman told reporters on Wednesday.

Staromykhailivka west of Donetsk, Holmivskyi near Horlivka and Spartak have reported damage done to one house each, he said.

"A pumping station was damaged and suffered a power outage in the town Telmanove, a TV tower was hit in the Telmanove district, and power transmission lines to Ukraine were ruptured. In addition, a woman has been wounded in a Ukrainian army attack on the Kyivskyi district of Donetsk; the information is being verified," the DPR Defense Ministry spokesman said.
