Tax revenue for federal budget up 39%, for consolidated budget up 20% in 4M - FTS

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russian federal budget tax revenue rose 39% year-on-year in January-April 2017 to 3.1 trillion rubles and tax revenue for the consolidated budget was up 20% to 5.7 trillion rubles.

The Federal Tax Service (FTS) said in a statement that its chief, Mikhail Mishustin, gave these figures at an FTS board meeting.

"An improving economy gave us a windfall of around 100 billion rubles. It should be mentioned that improvements in the quality of tax administration brought in another 200 billion rubles for the budget - a third of total growth in tax returns [not including mineral extraction tax]," Mishustin was quoted as saying.

Tax inspections raised 64 billion rubles for the budget in Q1.

Revenue for extra-budgetary funds rose 7.6% in April and 7.1% in March.

Mishustin said that as of today, almost 130,000 taxpayers had converted more than 420,000 cash registers - a third of all cash registers in the country - in keeping with a law requiring the transition to new cash register equipment that conveys online information about cash payments to the tax authorities.

Also, the FTS plans to update online taxpayer user accounts, with changes to the interface and feedback.
