EU visa-free travel rules for Ukrainians to take effect on June 11 - presidential official
STRASBOURG. May 17 (Interfax) - The European Union decision to grant visa-free travel to Ukrainian citizens will take effect just after midnight on June 11, 2017, Kostiantyn Yelisieiev, deputy chief of the Ukrainian presidential administration, said on Wednesday.
"Thus, the visa-free regime will take effect overnight into June 11," Yelisieiev told journalists in Strasbourg after a legislative resolution was signed to introduce the EU's visa-free travel for Ukraine.
The resolution, which was signed on Wednesday by European Parliament President Antonio Tajani and a representative of Malta currently presiding in the EU, will soon be published in the EU official journal, and 20 days afterwards Ukrainians will be able to travel to the EU without visas, he said.
